THE NEW ZEALAND HEALING ASSOCIATION
FOUNDED & INCORPORATED 1960
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
1ST February 2012
Welcome to The New Zealand Healing Association, where feeling happy, alert, relaxed and energetic is the “norm” and getting high is healthy and non- addictive. It’s all out there – or more accurately – ‘in there”. Since as you’ll see, getting “high” is all about helping the brain and discovering what does the job to keep it happy; which can be as easy as taking a trip to a supermarket, or scanning the shelves of harvest Wholefoods local health food store.
In New Zealand we drink 50 million cups of tea, 7 million coffees, 12.5 million sugared or caffeinated soft drinks, 6 million alcoholic drinks, smoke 75 million cigarettes, consume 300,000 grams of sugar, and 100,000 grams of chocolate in an average week.
On top of this we take 200,000 anti-depressants, puff our way through ½ a million joints and pop 100,000 illegal substances in a week; - and do these work? – obviously they do – or they wouldn’t be so popular!
We do this to boost energy, relieve anxiety, and recover from a hard day’s work. Some drugs even make us feel better than good – but when the effects of many of those substances evaporate, they leave us with some nasty aftermaths. Mood swings, depletion, exhaustion, and addiction can result from all that pouring, popping, and puffing. If you quit- that’s possibly why. In this magazine we’re going to tell you about the natural alternatives, healthy legal ways to alter how you think and feel; where you can find your own perfect combination of diet, nutrients, and techniques for natural highs. Nutrients can help you reach states of awareness and connection.
Foods can replenish and restore a brain and bodies depleted by stress, excessive drug and alcohol use, and assist hundreds of enzymes activities that take place in the human cell each and every day.
We can restore imbalances, detoxify the system, and sustain longevity.
There are natural alternatives to Prozac, and Valium that work with no side effects. We can become more active, taking action to cleanse and purify with saunas and or by going for walks along Pt Chev Beach, or up the side of Mt Eden in order to help return to a natural state and escape the prison of addiction. Ask about out workshops.
In fact there is evidence that there may be evolutionary advantage to depression and anxiety. Being on edge, vigilantly watching for enemies and predators has greater survival value than being “blissed out” full time. We can use mind altering supplements and techniques to detoxify – that break the patterns of bad behavior and restore good behavior patterns. We use substances that are legal, and good for you – working with an appreciation of the body’s design that balance and add energy.
All human beings want to be happy and deserve to be. People seek refuge in stimulants, depressants, drugs –legal and illegal, alcohol, sugar, dope et al. In fact “mind altering” is used as a catch-all for the evils of drugs, conjuring up images of mind control and criminal conspiracy to destroy civilization as we know it.
We need sound, safe, secure antidotes for the poisoning of the human spirit. We need fun and inspiration – leading people clearly into intelligent “highs” which you don’t have to pay for now and later. We can achieve this – we can truly “go well” and truly achieve mental wealth and abundant well being.
Join me and The New Zealand Healing Association every second Saturday of the month 7-10pm and enjoy fine organic soups, and inspirational company at the AHC Building, 990 Great North rd, Western Springs gardens and introduce yourself.
Looking forward to meeting you all
